What went well and what could be improved and the various barriers we faced

Filming

Barriers we faced were mainly as a result of the covid pandemic. These included limiting filming and editing opportunities as well as limiting the groups we could film in. this often meant that filming was delayed and pushed back and meant the eventual outcome of minimal editing done. Despite this we over came the limitation to group size by filming with optimum efficiency as well as taking advantage of opportunities that allowed the group and actors to all collect footage at the same time. Furthermore a we found that a barrier was the location its self as we had to find a remote and quite area that looked desolate and gave off a serene and yet ominous vibe. we overcame this through tedious recce and our knowledge of the general area. once this was achieved we found that the rain had effected the environment making footing more slippy and to over come this we paid extra attention to footing and camera positioning to ensure that neither actors nor equipment would be damaged.

in this sense we did well to collect footage under such suffocating and restrictive circumstances. And yet lacked the foresight to meticulously collect more picture evidence in preparation for the lock downs that would halt any progress and eventual stunt the production of our film. with hindsight I would alter the way we approached our film and collect more evidence with a clearer sense of urgency as well as altering all logs and plans to conform with the current projection of how filming had gone.

Editing

Hindrances we faced with editing can mainly be attributed to covid and yet also to our ill prepared plan and lack of foresight on the effect that covid would have on our film with the following lock downs. This was as we collected our footage and evidence with the intent to edit and hone our film after this to ensure we have a solid mental image on what the final product would look like. Alas this plan would ultimately be flawed with the second and third lock downs halting all progression on the film.

Despite this we kept mentally active as when filming and in down time we would be adjusting our plans for the film with a focus on music. This is as a result of our survey findings and how we found that audiences find music the most vital aspect in building suspense as well as this we found it was vital to keep a film enthralling. in this aspect we were prepared and thoroughly ready to provide audio. Furthermore we were ready and prepared to create titles as we had all practiced and created templates that would accentuate the ominous vibe we were aiming for. Despite this we could have improved the production of the final product. And done this by editing more often and with more haste to ensure we had more evidence. However this is all hindsight as we didn't foresee the effects of lock down.
